With the usual caveats, warnings, etc. Caveat Usosor. Read through two or three times before use, as you normally would with a new ritual. Feel free to adjust/tweak as needed; any questions, please feel free. Crafted by my hand and given in perfect love and trust; please use in the same spirit.

Ritual for Disposing of Unwanted Knowledge/Secrets

You'll need:

a charcoal tab, or something similar, to build a fire from/with
rose petals
rosemary
candle you can drip wax from
black embroidery floss / cord
a stone you can throw (one that can withstand some heat)
tongs to pull the stone from the fire
a vessel of water
your althame
a piece of paper and writing implement

process.

one.
After thinking exactly what you want to be rid of-- the secret itself-- think of how you want to word it; if it takes time, that's fine. Once you've got it, write it down on the piece of paper you have. You can scan back over it, but try not to reread it enough to get it lodged. If you do? Crumple the paper, set it aside, wait a couple minutes, start over.

Once you have it down, cover some of the writing-- the goal here is to interrupt the words-- with one or two of the rose petals; light the candle you'll be dripping from. You want to drip the wax in such a way as to adhere the edges of the petals both into the words and the paper. You want seven drops, and as each one goes, remember the counting rhyme: seven is for a secret never to be told.

Once the wax has cooled a bit, fold the paper over a couple of times, so you don't have to see what's inside it while you're working on the rest of the ritual.

Set the paper aside. If you need a few minutes to collect yourself, take them.

two.

In the empty vessel, place a generous pinch or two of the rosemary; while keeping the idea of wasing this away, put about four inches of water in the vessel. Set the vessel somewhere near where your fire is going to be.

three.

Set the stone and charcoal tab, in proximity to each other, where you're going to build your fire. The fire won't have to be big-- in fact, the charcoal tab should be enough fuel, but grab another one just in case. DON'T set the stone ON the tab.

Set the rest of the rosemary and a few more rose petals near where you can reach them; likewise the tongs you have.

four.

Visualize the secret as something that is bound to you; after doing so, tie the piece of paper to your non-dominant wrist. It should be situated in such a way that it cosses one of your main blood vessels. Let it sit there for a minute. Shift your thinking into literally cutting the secret away, cutting it out of your life. When you have that image, take the edge of your althame and use it to cut/pull the thread apart. Put as much force behind the gesture as you are comfortable with.

five.

Light the charcoal tab. Once it is going farily well, sprinkle some of the rosemary on the coal; let the smoke drift over you, if you can. Once the rosemary has started to char, add two or three of the rose petals, as well. When they've started to smoke, add the piece of paper and the thread.

(if the fire begins to peter out, you may use more rose petals, and blow on the coal, to get the paper to ignite. You want to obliterate the paper. You can also light it with the lighter or matches, as long as it is in the place where the fire is and in more or less contact with the coal tab.)

six.

once the paper has been consumed, remove the stone from the coals and drop it into the vessel of water (if you need to empty the dish from the fire into it, that's fine, but will be messier). Once the stone has cooled enough that you can handle it comfortably, take it in your hand and visualize getting rid of the secret-- and all of it's guilt, and the fire of it that's been burning at you-- and throw it. THROW it. Don't watch where it lands.

seven.

cleanup and return your Tools, as needed, and your Work area. If you'd like, dust your hands with salt afterward to remove any traces of energy from handling the catalized information.

...as i am currently living with people in a space where i can be out of the broomcloset and have space to work-- along with all of my tools and Tools-- i'm putting myself out there for you, and referrals to others that you know and trust.

Some of you may know this already, but just so it's here: i do a lot of woodwork (pictures available on request), especially warded and unwarded boxes for Tools. i don't make staves or rods or wands, but will consult on such matters. Also, i do textile work-- to our community, specifically, altar clothes and go bags-- but there's usually a waiting list, so if you want something like that let me know that, too. In emergency situations or for time-sensitive textile projects, i can move things around. All textiles are crochetted unless otherwise specified.

i do design work for ritual jewelry, but do not have the space to currently work on that in anything other than wood, presently (as the heating and energy costs for working with glass and metal would be prohibitive, and i don't want to burden my hosts).

Ritual items are on a case-by-case basis, and best dealt with individually. Likewise, spcific kinds of wards or ward items.

And lastly: if you need work on a ritual, construction of one, or herbalism consults, i provide those as well.

Pictures of past work and references to their owners/wielders available on request.

Prices and fees as per usual within our community.

Feel free to refer others, as well, but only those you know or trust, and only via email or the comment field here, please...
